About Stiina Sirainen

Stiina Sirainen is a doer and a maker in Helsinki, Finland. She first graduated as a professional dancer from a vocational sports academy in 2012. In 2016 she graduated from the University of Lapland as Master of Arts. She majored in Art Education and studied Art History and Fine Art as her minor subjects.

Whilst in Rovaniemi she taught dance for kids, worked at the Rovaniemi City Theatre and choreographed three dance performances – one for Sirkus Taika-aika (2010), two for Lyy Speksi – an amateur student theatre project (2012 & 2013).

After her return to Helsinki in 2015 she helped to launch a dance collective Suhe Dance and choreographed a piece for twenty dancers.

2015-2016 She focused on her Master's Thesis and worked at Korjaamo Cultural Factory, where she learned to navigate a wide range of situations and challenges met in customer service, sales and working at a new cinema – Korjaamo Kino. From November 2016 to Summer 2018 she taught dance for adults with special needs and disabilities.

A big new project she took over in September 2016 is Creative Night, a night of creativity held four times a year. She has brought together creative workers and inspirational makers to share their hearts with each other. The nights are still growing in attendance and volume and now in 2019 the concept has spread it's name throughout different churches and communities. After successfully producing eight events she now considers herself a producer too.

2016-2017 Stiina studied Arts Management and Entrepreneurship at the Sibelius Academy Open Campus.

After a long list of short projects and art workshops she found herself working as a gallery assistant for Kohta Artspace.

Now, in 2019 she takes on the new adventures in the gallery world and dancing.
